Hanging out near Ghibli museum

Hello,
Is there a place where I can hang out nearby while waiting for my kids to finish the Ghibli tour? Ifm not planning to go inside or join the tour. Not sure if the park nearby has shaded benches where one can wait. Thank you.

The park just behind the Ghibli museum is good but kichijoji Park is even better. Or you can go (window) shopping in Kichijoji.
Itfs a very nice area overall.
There is also an other really small museum close by.

Itfs a European style house.

Just as you leave the Mitaka Station area on the walk to the Ghibli Museum, you will see the Mitaka Tourist Information Center (on the right side at ground level). They produce a cute little map of the area that includes other sights and coffee shops, etc. that you might find helpful.
