What ticket to buy for Tokyo-Fuji-Kyoto trip?

Hi there!

We are traveling to Japan next week and we will staz in Tokyo from 20.05 to 24.05, than we will travel to Mt. Fuji and from there to Kyoto, stay there from 24.05 to 26.05 and travel a bit around and finally go back to Tokyo. So we are a bit unsure whats best for the trip. We are traveling 5 persons, our friends arrive at 12 and we arrive at 19 o'clock, so we are not sure if we can exchange our JR Passes at that time. Furthermore I read we have to reserve our seats for Nartia Express in advance, but we can't do it, if we don't have the passes. Are we gonna be able to use the passes around in Tokyo or we need day passes? What about traveling to Fuji and in Kyoto? Do we need to reserve all our seats in advance for every trip? Is there may be a better option than JP Railpass for us? How much time do we need to get from Kyoto to Tokyo? We have an early flight back.

You dont need a rail pass. Bus Shinjuk to Kawaguchiko. Bus Kawaguchi to Mishima. Shinkansen Mishima to Kyoto. Shinkansen Kyoto to Tokyo.

You really need a full return tokyo to kyoto trip plus side trips to make a 7 day jr pass work.
