drive from tokyo to shima peninsula

hello everyone,
we plan to fly to tokyo narita next month. and then drive down to shima peninsula from there.
wonder if its better to drive or to take the fast train instead... i have never driven in japan, but i have driven in europe, US and indonesia..

Driving in Japan in the rural area is very relaxing, but driving from Tokyo to Shima Peninsula is over the top at over 10hrs, you should get the train, even the Shinkansen is over 6hrs.

I agree with kms899, especially if you're not used to driving on the left side of the road in a very busy city. If you prefer to drive, rent a car at Shima area.
