Kotatsu in Ryokan

Hi everyone,
I will be traveling to Japan on January next year. I want to find a ryokan that comes with a kotatsu.
I would like to know if it is a common practice that ryokans would replace the usual low-legged table (chabudai?) with a kotatsu in winter? Or is it uncommon to find one?
Can anyone help to recommend a ryokan with kotatsu? I will be living in Hakone.
Many thanks. Indra

If you get a Japanese room with tatami Ifd say itfs quite likely youfll have a kotatsu. Probably an electric one. You could also simply ask the Ryokan youfd like to book.
Enjoy your trip to Japan!

In my numerous ryokans' tatami rooms, during my Japan visits either in Autumn or winter, I could vaguely recall only once or twice seeing and using Kotatsu; unfortunately, could not remember which ryokan it was. Maybe not that common these days due to other methods of room heating.
