Spouse Visa Financial Requirements 2018/5/27 09:06
My Japanese fiancee and I are planning to get married in Japan at the end of the year and then apply for a spouse visa. She has a full time job and makes about 200,000 yen/month (living in Hiroshima). I was wondering if immigration would consider this as sufficient income for the visa. I was thinking that it might be a good idea to get her parents to act as guarantor if it's not enough, but neither of them are working as they are both retired. Can her relatives other than her parents act as a guarantor?

I'll be arriving in Japan with about $8000 US in the bank and she will have a fair amount of savings in her account as well. I was wondering if anyone had a similar experience when applying for the spouse visa. We have all the other necessary documents and this is our only concern. I'd really appreciate it if someone could help me out here. Thanks!

I think your name seem Indian. I suggest you to marry in Indian court and then submit the marriage certificate to city hall in japan. Japan immigration consider 90% marriage visa applicant as fake. They dont trust marriage visa applicant easily unless you show proper documentation. If you marry in India, the immigration will have different and safe view on your application.
Other part is... even if you marry in Japan , your wife`s income (20 man per month) is enough to show. What type of work you will do? Sorry to ask personal.

Citation needed. This certainly does not match what we see here.

Actually, I am Canadian. Born and raised here, caucasian male. I don't see what difference that makes. But I intend to find a job teaching English, which I have done in the past (also certified). I'm also a professional photographer so I hope to do something with that over there too.

Having the in-law to act as your visa guarantor does make your application better. Talking from experience.

Also make sure you understand this two things,
Applying for Spouse Visa of Japanese National
Or
Applying change of status to Spouse of Japanese National.

Japan immigration keep doubt on marriages done in Japan. That is why I suggest to marry in home country first and then come to Japan. Many people have done convenience marriage in past and after that immigration become very strict. So good couples suffer now. I had also suffered because of it. Now Japan need the skilled work force, the marriage visa is more strict.
