Kokumin Kenko Hoken and mental health

There is a group of four of us planning to do a working holiday in Japan for a year. One of us has depression, anxiety and schizophrenia, and while our travel insurance will cover her depression and anxiety, it does not cover her schizophrenia. Does the Kokumin-Kenkō-Hoken cover her schizophrenia? She needs to see a psychiatrist or a doctor once a month to get her medication, that's all. I also just wanted to know, if in the rare chance that she goes to the hospital for her schizophrenia, will she be covered?
Thank you
