Sapporo to Asahikawa Bus

Hi All,

We plan to travel from Sapporo to Asahikawa by bus early next month and would like to find out which bus service (Hokkaido Chuo Bus, JR Hokkaido Bus and Dohoku Bus) we should use. We'll be staying near Sapporo station.

Is there a Tourist Info Centre near Sapporo Station that can guide us on how to get such a ticket?

The three companies cooperate on this route rather than compete. There are departures every 20-30 minutes, and you pay the fare as you exit the bus at the destination stop. The bus terminal is located adjacent to the Sapporo Station complex:

Yes. But it is really quite straight-forward. I recommend to directly head to the bus terminal, instead.

I am also planning to get this bus from Sapporo to Asahikawa. This is much cheaper than JR limited express and the time required is comparable. As far as I searched there is another convenient bus stop at Sapporo.

Hokkaido Chuo Bus Sapporo terminal. The bus starts at Sapporo station and then stops here I think.

I did the same trip in June last year, my record itinerary says:
SAPPORO EKI CHUO BUS TERMINAL, 2060 ‰~TO ASAHIKAWA

By the way, no reservation needed, and if my memory serves me correctly, free wi-fi on board.
