Suggest Itinerary for Nikko+Hakone+Tokyo

Hi,
I'm planning to go these three places: Nikko, Hakone and Tokyo in mid-Nov (Thu-Fri). Plan is to stay overnight at Nikko for one night, Hakone for one night and Tokyo to be the last stop in order to do some shopping.
Can someone suggest a good itinerary flow, cause it seems that travelling to either Nikko/Hakone requires us to pass by Tokyo?
Thank you!

Thanks for the advice!
How about regarding the best itinerary flow? I will be visiting for 8D7N, arriving at tokyo at 8.30am on the first day. Any suggestions on how to best schedule a 1 night stay at Hakone & Nikko within the period, keeping in mind the travel times? Thanks!

Hi, You can do Nikko as a day trip from Tokyo, no need to stay overnight You can do HAKONE overnight two days later, so your itinerary could be something like this:
Day 1: (arrival day) Tokyo Day 2: Tokyo Day 3: Day trip to Nikko (overnight Tokyo or you can do overnight in Nikko as you wish) Day 4: Tokyo (or return to Tokyo from Nikko) Day 5: Tokyo Day 6: Travel to Hakone- overnight Hakone Day 7: Hakone- return to Tokyo for overnight Day 8: Tokyo
Note that you can swap Day 3/4 with Day 6/7

Are you just staying in Tokyo the rest of the time?
You could consider the 3-day TokyoWide pass that gets you to Nikko and back, Odawara and back (gateway for Hakone using JR rather than Odakyu), and then out to Narita on your last day (if that is your airport). That option saves some money.
But, in reference to your question, Hakone and Nikko are opposite directions from Tokyo so there isn't necessarily a good "flow" between them - you end up passing through Tokyo - but that is not so bad.
