Hokkaido Itinerary

Hello,
Visiting Hokkaido in early August. Please comment on my itinerary. Loves nature, eating and shopping!
Day 1
Arrive 5pm Sapporo. Stay 1 night , eat and shop at JR Station shops. Heard the Nemuro H shop is good and affordable for sushi.
Day 2
Drive to Hokuryu Sunflower Village then to Rumoi for lunch at Obira Herring Fishermanfs Cottage.
Visit Kunimare Sake Brewery in Mashike. Drive to Asahikawa to stay for 3 nights
Day 3
Visit Furano
Day 4 Visit Biei
Day 5/6
Drive to Sounkyo Gorge. Stay for 2 nights
Day 7
Drive to Sapporo. Shop at Rera Outlets Board evening flight home.

Is Day 2 too much in one day?
May need to bone up Day 3 and 4; maybe include some orchard eg Ohashi Cherry Farm. Still researching.
Is Asahikawa a good base to explore the flower farms and country side? Appreciate suggestions for place to stay when visiting Sounkyo Gorge.
