Help with train from Yokohama to Kyoto?

My husband and I are arriving by ship (Diamond Princess) at Yokohama, docking at 6 a.m. on 16th October. We have booked a hotel in Kyoto from 16th October. We need to know which station to go to at Yokohama and which train we need to Kyoto. We would each like a 7 day (Green) pass to travel to Kyoto and take other trains later. We will also need to go by tain to Osaka Kansai Airport for our return to the UK on 21st October.

From Yokohama port you would go to Yokohama Station where you could do your rail pass exchange. Then the short local line journey to Shin-Yokohama where you get the shinkansen to Kyoto.

However, your route Yokohama-Kyoto-Kansai Airport is about half the cost of the rail pass. Unless you are doing a lot more travel, getting the pass would be a huge waste of money.
