Golden week 2019 in Takayama and Kanazawa

I will be in Takayma and Kanazawa from 30/4/19 to 5/5/19. Do you know if shops, museums and restaurants are open for business as usual? What about train services? Will there be any limited services during golden week?

Because the old emperor will abdicate on 4/30 and the new emperor will be enthroned on 5/1 during the 2019 Golden Week, things are a little unpredictable. Trains will be running generally as usual or with increased services. During a regular Golden Week, all tourist attractions, shops and restaurants will be open, but I am not sure about 4/30 and 5/1.

For most public holidays in Japan you wouldn't notice - there are a few exceptions (New Year tends to have a few things shut down). In my experience, for GW, business as usual.
