Is Bee Cheng Hiang BBQ pork in vacuum packs allow pass custom @ Haneda airport?... I intent to use it as omiage when visiting friends in Japan.

Bee Cheng Hiang BBQ pork is a snack sold in hong kong, they have a chain store all over the country, It something like pork Jerky.

Whiles I haven't brought the exact stuff into japan, I have taken similar stuff in to japan without any problem, they are vacuum packed with label.

I will try it out in November during my visit, and buy some Bee Cheng Hiang BBQ Pork and see what happens.

If it a commercially manufactured and sealed product, you should have no issue.

If it is a home sealed product, then no.

you should have no issue. which is not a lie. a statement with the wording "should" clearly implies probability. So a researcher still needs to do there own fact finding. a bit of googling found the below info, and the reason for the temporary restriction.

I seen many shops in Hong Kong so I presume it's a Hong Kong brand.

Whiles the is a outbreak, and a temp banned, and according to the information, it's not allowed in, but there are shops in Japan, but the items are exported and not made in Japan, so does that mean they are allowed in Japan.

I have brought the vacuumed packed Bee Cheng Hiang BBQ Pork, and Pork Floss in my luggage from Singapore through Narita, Haneda, KIX and New Chitose airports many times. Never had any problems. Yes, I also brought them as omiyage.
