Open time of Kamikochi

Dear All,
My friends and i are planning to visit Japan in early of December this year.
We intend to go to Kamikochi but read that it will shut down during winter.
Is there any way we could visit it during this time, around 5-8th of December?

It is possible to hike into Kamikochi during winter, but you need proper winter hiking skills and equipment. There is a danger of avalanches and falling rocks, and visitors enter on their own responsibility.

Hi! I have personally not done this, but while looking around for other information on Kamikochi I found this tour specifically for seeing Kamikochi in the Winter: https://alpinewonderland.com/product/short-snowshoe-tour-in-kamikochi/To get to Kamikochi from either Hirayu or Nakanoyu, you need to go through a tunnel. The tunnel is not always lit. If you are going to try to get to Kamikochi in the Winter and you are not taking a tour like the above tour, make sure you bring some sort of light, just in case.
