Tokyo to Yahiko - Shinkansen/JR Yahiko Line 2018/10/11 15:37
Hi

From Tokyo - Echigo Yuzawa - Tsubamesanjo - Yahiko

http://www.jreast.co.jp/e/stations/e1018.html

Transfer at Tsubamesanjo station to JR Yahiko Line, we only have about 6 min to get out shinkasen & find the platform for JR Yahiko Line, is this possible? Yahiko line is at what level? saw shinkansen at level 2. Anyone knows? Thanks!

That station map as it is, Shinkansen platform is 3F, Yahiko line is 1F,
6 mins transfer is enough if you have a ticket(or rail pass) already.

There is only station staff by Shinkansen automatic ticket gate, but no such ticket gate on Yahoko line,
no station staff = the same treatment as "unmanned station", so you can go directly to platform.
In the middle of passage, there is a ticket vending machine and machine for Suica in the same place.

You may miss the train if you are surprised that there is a "torii" in the train station passage.
