I'm travelling from Takayama to Ainokura in a few weeks. I've made reservations for Takayama-Shirakwago for the bus with japanbusonline.

For Shirakawago-Ainokura you can use World Heritage Pass from Kaetsuno company. No need to make reservations in this stretch.

I have heard Takayama-Hokuriku Area Tourist Pass is also available.
