Fuji five lakes area - Overnight or day trip?

Hi All,

My husband and I are planning to visit Japan on the coming 30th. Our itinerary is - Land in Tokyo stay 2 days, Leave for Kyoto and stay there for 3 days, leave for Osaka and stay their for 4 days, 1 day in Fuji area and rest 5 days in Tokyo.
I am confused on the stay on fuji area part as reaching Fuji kawaguchiko from Osaka might take around 4 to 5 hours. So should we do a day trip from Tokyo as our main motive is to view Mt Fuji up close.

I sometimes go on a day trip to Fuji by car.
People can enjoy it even for a day:D

If you are difficult to drive a rentaling car,you can use a bus tour.

I�fd suggest stay overnight in Mt Fuji area. First, you have 2 chances of seeing the magnificent mountain. Due to the weather it is not necessary you can definitely see Mt Fuji there as it may be surrounded by fog and clouds. 2nd, if you are game for it, rent a car for 24 hours and drive to see all five lakes and view Mt Fuji from different angles with different foreground.
