Icoca a wrong entry record? 2018/10/20 09:41
Hi

We entered Iseshi Jr station with taking the ic cards with our Icoca card.

We did not know it was the gate of Kintetsu iseshi too.

When we reach Jr taki station..we can't tap out since there is no ic card reader.

We pay the full fare to exit.

The station Mgr gave us a receipt for The wrong entry.

Can we still use the card on buses and convenient store with the wrong entry?

Theyn asdvise that reversal.can only be done at Osaka kintetsu station.
Thanks

You can use it as normal.

The reversal only is a partial refund for the full fare you were charged.

Thanks for advice.

Just to clarify...my icoca card only has entry record without exit. Did you mean it already has a deduction of fare in the card record?

Thanks

We tried tapping in bus today but not successful...it gives an error message though.

I would take it to a manned gate at a JR Station, preferably a big one with many potential foreigners, and ask to have the card cleared of mistakes.

A similar thing happened to me with a Suica once; I was told the onlt option was to just return it and get a new one.

if you enter with the card and get out without using the card, it will happen.
bring your card and the receipt, which you received at JR taki station, to the nearest (JR) station. the staff will erase the information of the departure of Kintetsu iseshi station.

Why was this issue not dealt with days ago? I thought that was going on in the first post?

You could ask the station personal and you had your answer right away.

When IC cards get screwed up, you have to go back to the company where it went wrong. In your case it was a JR station, so you have to visit JR. You can't get it corrected, say, at an Osaka subway station. (I had that issue with a card last year - just had to back track from the subway to JR, got it fixed, then on-wards again. I've seen other post where people have been some obscure places and plan to get their cards corrected eventually.) Until it is corrected your IC card can't be used for other transport (like your bus ride). It can be a pain, but you can still use the stored value at combinis or vending machines.
