Japan New Golden Route travel

Hi, we viewed the videos on the new golden route travel on the website and thought of picking up the exact itinerary but wonder if it fits into December weather? Certain places like Takayama will be snowing, does the public transportation affected? We drove to Takayama last year in December, it was tedious as it was our first time encounter but we enjoyed it. So this year we thought of travelling by JR and other form of transportation. Also how to go about with the luggage? Please advise, thank you :)

Hi, I'm also planning on a road trip in the are of Nagoya, Kyoto, then to the area of Fukui Prefecture in December. Do you mind sharing your experience driving in the area?
