Early February new golden route

I will be in Japan in early February and want to follow the new golden route but I don't want to spend all that money staying at the same ryokans. Anyone know of good budget areas in the same location? Also do you think any of the activities be closed?

Riding a bicycle along the sea of Japan in the middle of winter might not be appealing.
The video of the new golden route look to have been done in the summer months. So places like the Kurobe Gorge Railway will not be operating etc in the winter.

I've gotta agree with this comment. This area is beautiful in winter - mainly because it is covered in snow. It's actually home to some of the most snowy locations in Japan.
