JR 7-day pass or JR regional passes? 2019/1/3 03:53
Hello,

I am going to be in Japan for 6 days total, arriving in Osaka and travelling around Kyoto and Mt Koyasan, and leaving from Tokyo.

Is it possible to get regional Japan Rail passes that would cover off all the areas that I will be travelling around, or should I simply get a 7-day pass for the entire country?

Thank you

No. Osaka/Koya/Kyoto is one region, Tokyo is another. To go between regions you need a national pass. In your case, the one-way trip is about half the 7-day pass cost, and some of your Koyo trip is not JR anyway.
There is Koya/Osaka pass you could check.
