New student visa (extension)

I’ve been studying at language school for about a year and I got accepted to 専門学校, which should start in early April.
However, my current student visa expires April 5th.
I gave 専門学校 all the documents neccessary for Visa application in October last year.
I’m wondering, who’s going to let me know when my new visa is ready? Immigration or 専門学校？
