Using US Card in a Japan Bank

I need to withdraw more than my ATM limit.
I have a checking account with JP Post and Mitsui Sumitomo.
Wells Fargo told me I could go into a Mintsui Sumitomo branch with my WF card and ID, and I would be able to withdraw more than the 600USD ATM limit.
Does anyone have any experience with this?
