Pension refund query

Hi,
I worked in Japan for 3 years, but I left the country last week, two days before my ARC was due to expire.
I am now about to start the pension refund process.
However, I stupidly didn't visit my local municipal office before leaving Japan to notify them that I was leaving.
So my question is, am I still able to apply for my pension refund?

I think pension refund and local taxes are separate BUT you need to inform somehow that you left, because you need to pay this years taxes. Maybe ask your Japanese embassy or your previous company for advice?
