Asakusa-Haneda express without IC

Hello, we currently have SUICA cards but will be flying out of Haneda, where my understanding is that we can't refund the SUICA cards (must be at a JR office). So I'll be returning them the day before. If this is no longer true, please let me know.

We will need to get from Asakusa to Haneda and taking the express metro that has a through service on Keikyu rail line for 620 yen. I got the impression the ticket machines are primarily for metro-metro - how should we proceed to pay for this trip? We have been using the SUICA cards everywhere so I'm not sure if this can be done from the machines or if we'll need human intervention.

I figure we could figure it out in person, but with luggage and morning rush, hoping to come in prepared and inconvenience fewer people.

You should be able to buy a 620 yen ticket at the machines. If not, buy a ticket for some amount less than 620 and use the fare adjustment machines on arrival.

You won't be returning to Japan in the future? If so, then keep it. It can be used again! Plus, it's only 500yen. Keep it as a memento!

There are 3 options beyond what you think.

A)
Since Suica can be returned even on the day before the previous day,
get a new "PASMO" card and return it at the airport (at "Keikyu" counter).

B)
As Keikyu-Shinagawa stn on the way is next to JR Shinagawa stn,
return Suica here and buy paper ticket to Haneda Airport with cash.
Lower floor(1F) Takanawa ticket gate(�‚—ÖŒû) out,
then up to 2F JR station free passage and same way back and purchase.(ticket vending machine)

C)
Already answered above, the expiration date of Suica is 10 years fr the last used date,
so charge (SF/stored fare) are used up for shopping and eating at the airport, will take it to your country.
(If it is nameless card, there is no problem if it is sold to someone or present.)
(PASMO card validity period is also 10 years, though.)

HND also has a JR-East service counter, but it is not written exactly until it can be returned.

The link does not say that Suica cards can be returned, only that they are sold.

Hmmm....true lets try to get clarification from JR. I will be buying a Monorail Suica card when i travel there on the 27th. One can return this card at HND int terminal for sure. Happy hunting.

Wait! You are making a very big mistake,
"Tokyo Monorail" is NOT "JR-EAST", different rail company.
So you can not buy Monorail Suica at "JR EAST Travel Service Center" in HND.
It means Tokyo Monorail IC card "Monorail Suica" can not be returned to JR-EAST.
Also JR-EAST IC card "Suica" can not be returned to Tokyo Monorail.

Just there is no big difference between the basic functions of both cards.
In the case of the metropolitan(Tokyo and around wide) area,
you can use either in JR-EAST, Tokyo Monorail, or even in "Rinkai Suica" and "PASMO" card area's
most trains and buses, you should read below their official web's guide and FAQ.

If I buy a Suica Monorail IC and use it for my whole trip I can then refund it at the Monorail station at HND INT terminal on departure correct? That is my plan. Thank you. The question is still ...Can your refund a JR East Suica card at the JR East Customer support office at HND Int Terminal?

Monorail Suica can be returned to Tokyo Monorail in HND, no problem.
It can not be returned to JR-EAST, that reason(detail) mentinend well at my previous post.

Raddit only writes that Monorail Suica can be used the same way(basic functions) as Suica.
It means they said for using public transport, e-money for shopping and eating is same,
but did not say about refund and reissue if lost or broken/damaged is also same or not.

It is unclear whether Suica can be returned to JR-East service counter in HND, I wrote in my first answer.
