Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route

Hi, I planned my 20 days route in Japan, part of the route I'll go to Hakone from Tokyo for one night, day after I'll will go to Lake Kawaguchi and overnight there. My debate is how to involve the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route during my trip, if to do that right after the Lake Kawaguchi day trip or to do it as a day trip from Tokyo later as I'll back to Tokyo? what is your recommendation? if to do it from Lake Kawaguchi how is the transportation from there? I checked using the Hyperdia and got weird routs for about 5 hours travel... please advise.

If you do it after Kawaguchiko. Then you need to overnight either Matsumoto or Nagano. As the isnt direct route to the Alpine Route from Kawaguchiko.
