Domestic Flight query

Hi team,

Doing a third trip to Japan next year but sticking only with Tokyo and Hokkaido. We have decided not to use JR pass to save some cost.

I looked into flying to and from Tokyo to Sapporo and found JAL explorer pass and Jetstar Japan to be an option.

Jetstar Japan - How are there services ? Jetstar back home (New Zealand) is pathetic with flights being cancelled or delayed and we usually avoid them.

JAL explorer pass - Does it actually pay off in terms of a round trip from Tokyo to Sapporo ?

LCCs such as Jetstar are more prone to delays "due to late arrival of aircraft", especially for evening flights, because they don't have spare planes so if any plane is delayed for any reason, it snowballs to all the later flights served by that plane.

That's pretty much it, so just avoid afternoon/evening flights if possible.
