Foreign resident have to carry passport? 2019/9/17 11:26
I have been living in Japan for about half a year now as a foreigner on a spouse visa and I know that tourists and visitors to Japan have to always carry their passport with them, but do you have to always carry it with you if you have a visa and are living here(not a tourist) ?
Do I always have to carry my residency card with me also?

You have to carry your residence card (not your passport).

No, foreign residents will only have to carry the residence card with them. Passport is not necessary, so you'll be fine if you only carry the residence card :)
