Onsen town between KIX and Kyoto

Please help me to choose nice onsen town (2 nights) between arriving to KIX and a week in Kyoto.
Ideal if logistically easy to reach after long flight.
Kinosaki looks great as easy (quite long from KIX) transport, but any others? Wakayama? Arima?
(several times before in Japan, as for onsens - so far Hakone, Izu, Yufuin, Gero and some smalls)
