Cherry blossoms in late April 2019/11/22 18:14
Dear all,
I plan to visit Japan during 18-25 April 2020. Is it possible to see cherry blossoms at:
1. Fuji five lakes
2.Hitsujiyama Park/Shibazakura Hill
3.Matsumoto
4.Kitakami
5.Kakunodate
Thank you for all answer.

I'm not sure but you may find sakura at Bessho Onsen and Ueda which are close to where you are going.

Have you tried looking on the cherry blossoms section of this website for average blooming dates?

Having looked at the cherry blossom reports here on this website in the past for some specific locations, I can say that you are likely to have blooms in Kitakami and Kakunodate during that time period.

In general, I've noticed Tohoku locations vary less.

4.Kitakami - Yes. They have a large festival each year and around 10,000 trees. I visited a few years back.
5.Kakunodate - Yes, but it depends on the season like many locations.

The "nearby" places I could suggest are Sendai and further north Hirosaki.

These are all places that - depending on the timing of the blossoms - can be in bloom during the stated period. However, it will become March before we get an idea about the specific timing of next year's blossoms.
