Job for several weeks (Working Holiday)

This question was asked a few times on this forum and other websites, but, although I've been searching for a long time I couldn't find anywhere any complete answer.
Is that possible to find a job for a short time, like several weeks? I mean, something like a short contract.

Personally, I'd like to come to Japan with Working Holiday Visa, but instead of one regular job, find many short ones. Is that also possible to find a flat for shorter than usual? I know Japanese on a conversational level and graduated high school.

That is the idea for those on working holiday visa.
Main is traveling , and working is just add on.

With working holiday visa you can basically work anywhere you want (except mizushobai 'night entertainment' related). Your problem would be whether employer want to hire you for short term period.
You could try working at hostel in exchange for lodging and small elaunce.
