Osaka to Tokyo & Ogimachi

Hi. I will be travelling to Japan in March'20 but have not finalized my itineraries (4 adults). I have a few questions and any advice & input is very much appreciated.
1) Osaka-Tokyo
I read that taking the bus is the cheapest way to travel from Osaka to Tokyo so I'm thinking to take a night bus but I noticed that the fare for Friday, Saturday and Sunday is about 30% higher than other days of the week (correct me if I'm wrong)? Is there any other mode that is cheaper than this?
2) Ogimachi sightseeing
Is one-day tour to Ogimachi (‰¬’¬) of Shirakawa-go from Osaka doable? How do you suggest to go about this?
