Quit school while waiting for new visa?

Hello,
I'm currently on a student visa and studying at a Japanese language school in Tokyo. I recently received a job offer and submitted a visa status change application to Immigration about five weeks ago.
My question is this: If I quit my language school after applying for a visa status change (but before receiving the results), will this negatively impact my currently in-progress visa status change application?
I have less than two months left on my current student visa so if the work visa application is rejected, I'll be leaving the country anyway. I searched the forums but I didn't find anything that directly answered my question.
Thanks!

if you quit the school, I think your student status becomes yellow from green. that is your decision.
