You can arrange for a gkyoku-domeh pick up at any post office around Japan.

The sender has to write (so you need to look up and give them):

The postal code of the post office,
XXX yubinkyoku-dome (insert the name of the post office)
(Then your own address in Japan in parenthesis)
And your (= recipientfs) name.

When you go pick it up, you need to tell them that it is gkyoku-dome,h what kind of postal item it is (express mail, parcel, etc.), your name, and tracking number (if applicable), and show them a valid ID with the address to show that it is you.

The hitch about this service when it comes to overseas postal item is that they wonft tell you that an item has arrived; you need to keep track of it by tracking service. And they keep it only for 10 days.

Do becareful with your/recipient name on the parcel. Make sure it is exactly the same as whatever ID going to use. Exact spelling, hyphen, marks etc. Katakana in parcel and romaji ID will be troublesome.
Anything different may cause you problem in retrieving your parcel.
