From Kyoto to Hiroshima with JR Pass

Can JRPass be used to travel from Kyoto to Hiroshima? It looks like the Kodame line has a direct train from Kyoto to Hiroshima, but when you look at its station, Hiroshima is not included.
Thanks

There are stations along the Shinkansen lines where every train stops. Hiroshima is one of those.

There is a few direct trains allowable using the JR pass.
But easier to get a local or rapid to Shin-Osaka. Then a shinkansen from there. They are every 30 minutes.

Please see JR-West's website. https://www.westjr.co.jp/global/en/Type Kyoto and Hiroshima in the "Timetable & Route Finder" and "Search". On the next screen check the "Exclude Nozomi/Mizuho" check box. Of course, specify the date and time. You will see the "official" results for Japan Rail Pass users.

You leave Kyoto early in the morning. : Currently there are three direct HIKARI trains; one bound for Hakata and two bound for Hiroshima.
You leave Kyoto later in the morning. : There is one Hikari train bound for Okayama per hour; you can catch a SAKURA train at Shin-Kobe. : Even if you take the Shin-Osaka bound HIKARI train departing about 30 minutes before the Okayama-bound one, you have to take the same SAKURA train (#). : At Shin-Kobe, you can change trains via the same platform; to catch a SAKURA at Shin-Osaka, you highly likely need to get to another platform.
On the Shinkansen, doors are open for only one minute or less at Shin-Kobe, at Hiroshima (except Hiroshima bound trains) and at Kyoto; when your Shinkansen train leaves Shin-Osaka, get ready to disembark.
(#) Westbound SAKURA trains start from Shin-Osaka; if you travel during a busy season but you have not reserved your seat, your Shin-Osaka transfer may have a merit of securing more easily your favorite seat.
----
On Saturday, March the 18th, JR companies will revise their timetables.
According to the current timetable : Kyoto (07:20) [HIKARI 531 for Hakata] (09:04) Hiroshima. : Kyoto (08:00) [HIKARI 533 for Hiroshima] (09:54) Hiroshima. : Kyoto (08:29) [HIKARI 535 for Hiroshima] (10:32) Hiroshima. : Kyoto (09:43) [HIKARI 501 for Okayama] (10:11) Shin-Kobe (10:19) [SAKURA 551] (11:31) Hiroshima. : Kyoto (10:43) [HIKARI 503 for Okayama] (11:11) Shin-Kobe (11:31) [SAKURA 553] (12:54) Hiroshima. : Kyoto (11:43) [HIKARI 505 for Okayama] (12:11) Shin-Kobe (12:19) [SAKURA 555] (13:32) Hiroshima.

Whenever I travel west of Shin-Osaka on the shinkansen, I always travel on the Sakura for the reason of the service originating from there. If you arrive early enough, you can be the first to board the train. Helps mostly with unreserved seats. They are every 30 minutes and can be used with the JR pass.
