Hokkaido at the end of April 2023

Hi everyone,
Am planning to visit Hokkaido this April - the end of April and the first week on May. Our main purpose is see the nature and vastness of this magical island. A little bit of Sapporo, mostly national parks and, Onsens, little villages and more.
My concern is the weather - is it going to be nice enough weather to travel there or not?

Frankly, it is not the best timing. Winter hasn't fully ended, and spring hasn't really started yet. Higher elevations will still be snow-covered.
