Will Lourdes Hand Care work in UK? 2023/3/7 05:22
I bought a Lourdes Hand Care hand massager in Japan a few years ago. Got it out this week to use for the first time in a while and cannot get it to charge. The light flashes red on and off but never anything beyond that and I canft get it to switch on. Ifve tried with a plug converter on a normal plug and separately tried it on a 115V shaving two pronged socket.

Any suggestions for getting this to work?

The power voltage in the UK is 220 or 240V. Voltage in Japan is 100V. So if you plug it in in the UK, the voltage is way too high. Youfd need (in addition to the socket converter - that is just an adapter for the different shapes of the sockets) a step-down transformer to bring down the 240V out of your wall to 100V so it can be fed to the machine.

Check your AC adaptor rating? A quick check on the manual it mentioned the adaptor is 110V-240V in and 12VDc out.

Technically 110V should work on the "115V shaving two pronged socket" however since you said you had it for few years and only recently took it out after 'how many years' not using it?

Possible that the internal battery is already 'dead', not able to charge because of long term not being charged/used.

Try leaving it charging overnight, and see if it revive the dead battery.

If it has a battery and you have left it uncharged for many years. Then battery will be beyond dead. No return from dead.
