Kyoto Sakura Spots on April 2/3 2023/3/27 21:55
Hi there,

I will be in Kyoto on 2nd April to the 5th. I have checked https://kyoto.travel/en/cherryblossom/index.html - would you still recommend visiting the Philosophers Path on 2nd/3rd despite it being full bloom already?

What condition do you imagine the trees to be in at that point? Would it still be nice visually?

Many Thanks,
George

You can see the cherry blossoms here.

Cherry blossom season is recommended, but other than that, there are shops along the street, so it's fun to stroll around.
If you plan to go to Ginkakuji, I recommend it.

They reached peak last weekend, so they will definitely lose blossoms by next weekend.

If your purpose is cherry blossoms, I would go somewhere else that is at its peak.

I suspect that some of the places with later blooming varieties, such as Heian Shrine and Haradanien could still be worth a visit. And possibly Ninnaji. But even some of the Somei Yoshino may still be attractive here and there with some petal blizzards unless there is some major rain or wind in the meantime.
