Matsuyama New Year’s Eve restaurant

My family will be in Matsuyama, on Shikoku Island, New Year's Eve. Any recommendations for dinner that night would be appreciated. Our hotel has not been helpful, and the local tourism office has not responded to an email; perhaps because of language difficulties.

Matsuyama aside, our Shikoku holiday will include stays in Takamatsu and Naoshima Island, Ashizuri, Kochi and Iya. Grateful for any sightseeing and restaurant suggestions.

In general family-run restaurants close in new year days. about 30 years ago, I ( a Japanese) tried to find a restaurant for a group of 5, and it was quite difficult (in Kagoshima city). So you may better reserve a restaurant beforehand.

Now Hotpeper is the largest booking site.

Other tool is Googlemap where you can search on the map, but reservation might be somewhat complicated.
