Expo 2025 2024/12/16 20:17
Hi,
I've read the expo2025 website and registration manual and I'm still unsure about a few things:
1. Is it possible to visit the expo for two days by buying in advance two tickets, and not use one of the multi attendance passes?
2. Regarding the daily events that require lottery, I could find only the country events , but I'm not sure what are the main recurring daily events. Also not sure whether those lottery events make the most of the events or the interest in the expo ?
3. Is it reasonable to visit the expo for a couple of days, or is it mainly intended for a single day visit?

Thanks

It is possible to only purchase the (advance) admission tickets, without having to specify the entry date and gate before-hand. Tickets can also be transfererd to others and up to 10 additional tickets can be registered. Reservation of the entry date and gate can then be reserved and changed up to three times.

Haven't explored as much of the expo either, so I'm unaware of the daily events that you have mentioned. The site seems to state that reservations only open up two months prior. I have noticed that the Japanese language version seems to list a few more events and pavillions as opposed to English version: (en: 1034 events + 169 pavilions) & (ja: 1145 events + 187 pavillions).

I am likewise curious for your shared interests, as my main interst has been to hopefully visit the opening event with Ado's concert, as I also hope that you'll be able to enjoy a wonderful stay.

Thanks rayanamukami,
You've answered my main question regarding multiple tickets.
I won't be able to attend the opening event as we arrive in Osaka only in May.

Thanks for your reply.

Re: Expo 2025 2025/1/21 05:37
I am visiting the Osaka Expo over 2 days: May 21 & 22.

I am assuming that it requires at least two days to visit most of the main attractions, but I am unclear whether I need to pre-book anything. The official website has so much information, it is overwhelming and makes it difficult for me to navigate and focus on anything effectively.

So far, I've looked at the Events Calendar and written down the events on both days at all 7 venues. I've also opened the supplementary events calendar, and many of the listings are duplicated from the main Events Calendar.

Do I need to:

1. Buy 2 one-day advance purchase (first half) tickets at 5,000 JPY per day?
2. Then make a reservation for each day on each ticket online?
3. Then make a reservation time for each day? (I cannot decide to enter at any time during the day? I must choose a particular entry time on each day??)
4. Then apply for a 2-day advance lottery?

The website describes the "2-month advance lottery as an application system for pavilion and event admission that can be entered from 3 months before until the day before 2 months prior to the reserved visit date."

What does that mean exactly?: 3 months before? 2 months prior? If my visit dates are May 21 & 22, when can I apply for this advance lottery? No earlier than Feb 21st and no later than March 21st??

And what is this lottery for? To enter any of the pavilions? I thought once I get inside the Expo, I can freely enter any pavilions at any time (subject to waiting in queue, of course).

Their website communication is making everything seem complicated and convoluted. Can anyone explain in simple terms (1) what and when I must do in advance and (2) what to expect once I get there? Thank you very much!

For people confused about the expo ticket buying process, you are not alone. Even the organizers are concerned that the process is too complex.

In other news - the PM has pledged to ensure the sucess of the event. Quite how he will achieve that other than making a bold statement was not mentioned.

Re: Expo 2025 2025/1/28 01:58
Thank you for the additional information and article.

Entry ticekt(s) must indeed first be purchased, then one must proceed to reserve an entry date, an entry time and specify a way of transportation to the venue (East Gate Subway or West Gate Shuttle Bus). As these entries also seem to be limited in capacity, it might be advisable to decide a bit earlier.

The advance reservation system applies for both Events and Pavillions, with each lottery session granting us up to five choices.

The afore-mentioned Ado Event has a limited capacity of 10,000 seats, Pavillion reservations seem to be for an early entrance experience that lasts around 15 to 60 minutes (at a first glance).

To apply tickets (together), one will have to select said ticket(s) and apply to reservation by entry date, and search (a rather long) list filterable by event or pavilion through the reservation system.
