Nebuta Matsuri Hotels

Hi! I've just started planning for booking hotels next August to see the matsuris around Aomori prefecture, but I noticed that most hotels in various cities are not available already for those dates. I wonder are they all sold out or if they are only releasing rooms for those days at a later time? And if there are any suggestions for alternative places to stay at :) I see that there are still some rooms for August 1st so that should enable me to at least see the one in Hirosaki and the beginning of the one at Aomori.

Both! Some hotels are already sold out. Others - mainly some business hotel chains - don't release their rooms until later.

We�fve tried for 3 years running - I definitely think all the hotels are pre booked by Japanese travel companies - you won�ft have a hope. We ended up (this year) staying in Hachinohe and commuting to/from Aomori for the festival but the congestion/queue at Aomori station after the Matsuuri was CRAZY! Very stressful waiting to get the last train to Hachinohe!
