ebikes on naoshima

hi. reading alot of conflicting information on ebikes on naoshima. i know its quite hilly and we will need that extra oomph from an ebike.

have read alot of comments saying they are not strong enough to get you up the hills. has anyone here actually rented one? was it strong? i know there are a few rental agencies there so would appreciate a referral. thanks

I did not rent a bike on Naoshima - but from memory I either caught a bus or walked.

As a person who has rented an e-bike numerous times - I do think it would be helpful specifically when going up hills. It's been a while since I visited so others might know more

I rented an e-bike from just across from the ferry port and had zero issues at all going up the hills.

The e-bikes definitely made traveling uphill more bearable and easy. I think they're definitely worth it.
