Choishi Michi Detours March 2025 2025/3/9 05:16
Hello everyone,

I've read that parts of the Choishi Michi trail are currently closed. There seems to be a larger detour that leads through the stations Kami-Kosawa and Kii-Hosokawa. Does anyone know which numbers of the trail are not accessible and if one has to take the train between Kami-Kosawa and Kii-Hosokawa? Is the detour doable and easy to find?

Best,
Oliver

The up-to-date information is explained here with a map:

It is a small, easy detour. Nothing to worry about.

Thank you so much, Uji!

In the picture shown in the first link you send, there is another text saying "section closed due of weather damage", above the Yatate tea house. I wondered what it refers to, I first thought it is closed until the Yatate tea house (the 6.8km/120min section). I wondered if that is still the case or if I misread that?

That was a mistake.
It has been fixed in the meantime.
