Buy Icoca on Osaka Airport 2025/5/9 17:43
My travel agency told me that it's only possible to pick up the ICOCA card at Osaka airport and no longer at train stations.
Unfortunately, we will be landing in Osaka very early, around 7:30 AM, and I saw that the ICOCA counter opens at 9 AM, so we can't wait there.
However, Ifve seen on other websites that the ICOCA card is also available at train stations, but only at the airport therefs a special version for tourists that includes some discounts.
If wefre not able to get the one at the airport, can we still get it at the train stations?

In case you refer to Kansai Airport, Osaka's international airport:

Icoca cards are sold at stations! You can do so at a ticket machine at the airport after arrival.

Suica and Pasmo cards were temporarily unavailable, but that ended two months ago. I suspect that your travel agent is not quite well informed about Japan.

Note also that the special tourist version of Icoca, Kansai One Pass, will be discontinued in November 2025. Until then, it can be purchased at Kansai Airport and the followinf slaes locations:

In case you refer to Itami Airport (also referred to as Osaka Airport):

Icoca cards are not sold there. You have to go to a JR station to buy them, e.g. Osaka Station.

I got one of these cards late at night at Kansai airport at the ticket machines, as Uji stated. This was 4 weeks ago.
