Traditional Ryokan in / near Hakone?

There are a slew of ryokans on this website, but I am looking for a personal recommendation from someone who has actually stayed at one that was worth the price in or near Hakone or Fuji (we could do either city) -
Looking for a ryokan with in-room quality breakfast/dinner and traditional feel. Luxury not at all necessary. But clean and location, yes!
Private onsen a plus, but not necessary if one onsite to reserve for private use as it appears several do.

I stayed at Fukuzumiro and it was very good and beautiful.

Fukuzumiro Ryokan in Hakone is a great traditional option clean, with in-room meals and a reservable private onsen. It's not luxury, but full of character and conveniently located near Hakone Yumoto Station. For a more modern feel near Fuji, Laforet Club Hakone Gora Yunosumika is also a good choice.
