Type of Osaka Expo ticket to buy?

Hello all,

I'm visiting the Expo next month, and while flights, hotels etc have been purchased a long time ago, I've left buying the actual tickets pretty late. I've signed up to the Expo site, and read the Japan Guide articles on the event, but the one thing I'm still unsure about is what type of ticket to buy.

Potentially, I could be there for as much as 9 days, so that brings me into possibly getting a season ticket. And if that turns out to be slightly more expensive, I don't really mind. But with all the ballots etc, I'm totally lost. Will the season ticket give me some kind of extra privileges getting into pavilions? Will buying multiple day tickets give me extra chances? Should I not care and just turn up on the day?

Please help!

Sorry to bump this thread, but I've now seen that season passes are no longer available, so I've purchased tickets for the first three days. I've also put in requests for pavilions for the first two days, but if anyone has any advice on whether to immediately purchase further tickets or on what pavilions to request or avoid I would really appreciate it.
