Mazda museum reservations 2025/9/16 23:29
Hi,

In October, I will be travelling through Japan. As I am a big fan of Mazda and have driven an MX5 for the past 25 years, my dream was to visit the Mazda museum and see vehicles like the Cosmo and 787B for real.

Unfortunately, despite adding more time in Hiroshima in the itinerary, by the time the dates became clear, I find the first day I am in Hiroshima, the museum is closed and the second day is already fully booked. (Oct 6 and 7). All of october is booked (English tours)

Does the Mazda museum maybe have a reserve list in case someone cancels their afternoon reservation? I can't find any contact info (only the Japanese contact form)

Thanks,

Mathieu

Itfs not the Mazda Museum but when I was at the Numaji Transportation Museum earlier this year they had a few Mazdas in the foyer including the RX-500.

I never noticed a wait list on the web site.

I recently went to the Mazda Museum (on August 5) and took the Japanese tour even though I am not fluent in Japanese (Nihongo sukoshi dakei hanashimasu). I was fine. Though most everything is in Japanese I mainly wanted to see the cars on display. If your main intent was to view and photograph the cars and you can use a Japanese translation app like Google Translate you will be okay.

If you want the "full experience" with English narration then you will need to hold out for the English language tour, hoping someone may cancel and a slot becomes open on the days you will be in Hiroshima.

As of today, on October 18 there were a lot of slots available for the Japanese tour.

Thank you for your answers.
I will check and consider joining the Japanese tour in the morning.

I'd keep checking the site, just in case reservations do open up from someone else cancelling.

Also, as a fellow Roadster/Miata/MX-5 owner of roughly the same length of time, I highly recommend the tour even if you can only get a reservation for the Japanese-language one. Honestly, the video presentation/tour guide talk doesn't go into that much technical detail, so even without understanding the language you'll still be able to enjoy the visuals and car models, and unless they've changed the tour, the production line they take you to is the one the Roadster is built on, and runs right into the dock where the completed export cars are loaded for shipping.
