Matsuyama Fall Festival

Hi Everyone: Is the Matsuyama Fall Festival in Shikoku still being held from Oct 5-7 in 2026? The official Matsuyama City tourist website says it is always held Oct 5-7 every year, but I can't tell if the info is current or not. Also, there's no email contact listed. Would like to make hotel reservations around the festival for 2026. Any knowledgeable person who can confirm the dates? Thank you.

"....always .... every year" is probably translated "Reinen" in Japanese. Reinen in Japanese means more concrete meaning. The following is the dictionary translation,
"Rei-nen" means "the usual year," "every year," or "annual rule." It is a word used to judge how the current year is based on past years, and is used when comparing it to normal conditions or customary practices."

I have never heard of the festival. But yes, a Google search revieled that it is held also in 2025 from October 5-7 at multiple shrines across the city. It seems like a collection of festivals by multiple shrines, and the highlight seems to happen on the 7th.

I just realized you are asking about 2026. It seems that the dates do not change from year to year. Even if they did, note that many festivals with varying dates are very slow in officially announcing next year's dates. Often just half a year in advance. But that does not seem to be the case of the Matsuyama Fall Festival.

Thank you all for your replies. I scatter shot a query to every Matsuyama City government email I could find online, and someone replied. The person confirmed it would be Oct 5-7 this year, and "likely" the same dates in 2026 as per in the past. Nice of the person to reply to my email, considering it was about 9pm on a Friday evening in Japan!
