Walks around ShinHotaka Ropeway or Kamikochi?

I am staying in the Kamikochi area for two days/ 1 nights. My booking is in Tokusawa lodge. (mid October)

I plan to leave Matsumoto early on day 1 and return on the evening to Hirayu Onsen on day 2.

I would love to hear about how I can spend that time. I broke my foot last year so want to avoid technical hikes and don't want to do Karasawe circuit.

Is it better to do walks and go slow in Kamikochi?
Or should I spend day 1 in Kamikochi and then head off early to Shinhotaka Ropeway? (Maybe hike up to Nishiho Sanso hut ?) before going to Hirayu onsen

Any other thoughts?

Walking around through Kamikochi is very easy, as it is all flat, so if you want a quiet first day, that should be OK. On the second day you could hike up to the ropeway (weather permitting), which is not a difficult route. Take the ropeway down to Shin-Hotaka and then a bus to Hirayu Onsen.
