I did a search for this on several forums but all the info is 6 years old or older. I looked through Google maps and some people do mention both bus stops having coin lockers but I am not certain the info. is certain. I will be traveling with a carry on size suitcase (21inch/55 cm high) and need to put it in a coin locker while I tour the villages. I have asked the ryokan in Takayama if they will accept my luggage via takkyubin but no answer from them...yet. I will be dragging the luggage from Shin-Takaoka to Takayama while visiting all the gassho zhuri villages. LOL

Thank you so much for the page with beautiful, clear pictures. I am guessing Suganuma also has a similar system? Thank you again. And my landlady also replied that I could send the luggage ahead. So, I think I will figure out the logistics of that option first.

Thank you. I watched a Japanese youtuber today who left her luggage at the bus stop while she visited the village. She didn't use the coin lockers. I was shocked! She just left it in the corner of the hut.

Unfortunately, there is a small minority of selfish, inconsiderate tourists, who cause a majority of problems and give the entire industry a bad image. Hats off to tourists like you who show consideration!
