Koyo forecast in Kyoto

Hi!

I was planning to go to Kyoto from 9-12 December after seeing the official koyo forecast
(https://n-kishou.com/corp/news-contents/autumn/?lang=en) saying peak red leaves would be on 15 December. But seeing Japan Guide�fs live koyo updates I�fm getting a bit confused as it seems leaves have turned red already. Do you think the red leaves will be up until my trip or should I rearrange my plans?

The peak of the main season wipp likely be over, but you may still find some pockets of colors here and there.

oh dear, i too have booked for 9th to 13th based on predictions. that is so disappointing if i miss the full colours again

I have never in the past 17 years seen the colors in Kyoto peak in mid December. It is usually in mid to late November. Recently sometimes into early December. And Tokyo is almost always later than Kyoto (and this year does not seem to be different), yet n-kishou.com claims that Tokyo peaks on 11/23 and Kyoto on 12/15. It is simply ridiculous! Again, you may be able to find some pockets of colors after 12/10, but most famous sites will unfortunately be beyond peak.

The peak rarely lasts more than two weeks.

Okk I�fve just rebooked my entire trip then 😅 I�fm gonna go 2-5 December hopefully that�fll be a better timing!

i also rebooked my trip for osaka 1 to 3 dec and kyoto 4 to 8th because of the hotel availability. the weather will not be that good when i am in kyoto but hopefully will still see some vibrant red colours

We did have snowfalls today. Sorry about this bad weather. Enjoy in Kyoto with a hot stuff. Hot pot is nice under cold weather.
